The bigger arenas, theaters and music clubs draw the bigger acts, but the smaller music venues matter just as much. The smaller venues book excellent artists who are emerging onto the local music scene. The personal intimacy and the immediacy of the setting can make the experience much more fun.
Downtown Manhattan is bursting with great live music in venues that are largely undiscovered by the general population. Here are some of the musicians that are leaving lasting impressions in local bars, restaurants, and even boats.
