NYC Concert Announcements: Slipknot, Goose, Animals as Leaders, the Head and the Heart, more

Slipknot, Trouble No More, Goose, Animals as Leaders, the Head and the Heart, Jawbreaker, Jawbox, Osees and Boston Manor are among the bands that on January 18 announced upcoming U.S. tours. These tours include performances in New York City. Visit the band's website to learn when tickets will be on sale.

Slipknot announced the 2022 iteration of their Knotfest Roadshow Tour. The tour will take place over two legs, both headlined by Slipknot. Speaking on the new tour announcement, Slipknot's clown stated that "It feels so good to get back out on the road with our Culture. Get ready for a brand new experience. See you soon." Vocalist Corey Taylor added that "Even with everything going on in the world right now, we're still extremely excited to come back out in the states, with two different, exciting packages. Whether it's In This Moment and Jinjer, or Cypress Hill and Ho99o9, we pride ourselves in bringing our fans the epicenter of our music and art. Come celebrate with us, and try to stay as safe as we will be." Slipknot, Cypress Hill and Ho99o9 will perform at Barclays Center on May 20.

The Allman Brothers Band announced a second night of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Eat a Peach album at the Beacon Theatre, a venue the Allman Brothers Band played nearly 250 times. The first concert there on March 25 reportedly is nearly sold out. The second concert will be the next night, March 26, which happens to be the 53rd anniversary of the Allman Brothers Band's first public performance. Trouble No More will debut at these two shows. The band consists of Brandon "Taz" Niederaurer (guitar, vocals), Lamar Williams Jr. (vocals), Daniel Donato (guitar, vocals), Peter Levin (keyboards), Roosevelt Collier (pedal steel), Dylan Niederauer (bass), Jack Ryan (drums), and Nikki Glaspie (drums).

Goose will headline Radio City Music Hall on June 25. The performance will feature one acoustic set and two electric sets. "Performing at a historic venue like Radio City Music Hall is a dream come true for all of us! " said drummer Ben Atkind. "I can't thank our fans enough for getting us here."

Animals as Leaders' Parrhesia US tour will come to Irving Plaza on April 10. The show will consist of two sets, one of which will feature new album Parrhesia in full. Parrhesia will be released on March 25. The tour will start in Denver on March 30 and hit 18 additional cities.

The Head and the Heart's Every Shade of Blue 2022 North American Tour will include a performance at the Rooftop at Pier 17 on June 6, with Jade Bird as the support act. "It's wild to think that by the time we get back on the road this year, it will have been over two and a half years since we last toured," the band stated in a press release. "We're so excited to bring new songs to life on stage every night, traveling alongside artists who inspire us. We can't wait to get out there, doing what we do with an even greater sense of gratitude."

On March 18, Jawbreaker will launch the 25th anniversary tour of their 1995 album Dear You. (Jawbreaker noted that "The last two years don't count.") The shows start on the west coast and arrive at Irving Plaza on April 27 and 28. The Linda Lindas will be the support act in New York City.

The reunited Jawbox will perform three shows at le Poisson Rouge on July 20 to 22. The residency will see Jawbox celebrating three distinct eras of their decade-spanning career and will showcase a different set each night. "With three nights to cover four records, rather than playing any of these albums in full in sequence, each night of this residency will concentrate on a different phase of the band and include material we didn't play on the 2019 tour, with some (minimal) overlap between the set lists. Night 1 will draw heavily from the first two Dischord albums; Night 2 will center on For Your Own Special Sweetheart, and Night 3 will revolve around the final self-titled Jawbox album. We're also excited to curate the bill each night and share the stage with other artists who continue to inspire us."

After a two-year closure, Café Carlyle will reopen on March 1 with a two-week engagement by Isaac Mizrahi. This will be followed by two weeks of Hamilton Leithauser of the Walkmen beginning March 15. The performances are from Tuesdays through Saturdays. Some of the venue's former regulars, including John Pizzarelli and Steve Tyrell, are scheduled to perform later in the spring. The venue's website does not yet indicate if Woody Allen will resume his Monday night residency.
