Arcade Fire will perform a pay-what-you-want benefit for the
Ukraine tonight at the Bowery Ballroom. Announced with only a few hours notice,
fans can go to the venue this afternoon, show proof of vaccination and donate any
amount via credit card in exchange for a wristband, which will serve as entry
to tonight's concert. Although the set time remains unannounced, those with
wristbands can begin entering the venue at 8 p.m. Arcade Fire has not made further announcements, but the rumored word is that the band also will perform at the Bowery Ballroom on Saturday, Sunday and Monday as well.
Bad Bunny, Tom Misch, Jesse & Joy, Twiddle, Overkill,
Prong, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Kim Gordon, the Dear
Hunter, the World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die, Cautious
Clay, Relient K, Tank and the Bangas, Touche Amore, Robert Glasper, Hamilton
Leithauser, and Rickie Lee Jones are among the dozens of touring musicians who
will be performing on New York City stages this weekend. Many local acts are
hoping to entertain new audiences in smaller bars and music venues as well. The
Manhattan Beat spotlights in photographs some of the musicians that played in the past few days and looks
ahead to the weekend with listings of live music.
