Where vacant lots once stood in the Lower East Side, 55 community gardens blossomed. At the beginning of each autumn since forming in 2011, LUNGS (Loisaida United Neighborhood Gardens) has offered these community-managed vest-pocket parks an opportunity to celebrate together, inviting them to open their gates to the public and showcase local art. Several local musicians participated in this year's Harvest Arts Festival, held on October 3 and 4.
