Who Is Rocking Downtown in Rocktober?

Years ago, rock music fans re-christened October as Rocktober, traditionally one of the biggest months in the live music industry. No national artists are touring this year, however, due to health concerns and travel restrictions, so the focus has been on local performers. Although a few downtown music clubs, including Cafe Wha? and Drom, have had quiet re-openings of their indoor spaces, the majority of the musicians continue playing outdoors. All of the following photographs were taken in the first week of Rocktober.
Pinc Louds brought indie rock to Abe Lebewohl Park
Susquehanna Industrial Tool & Die Co. performed rockabilly and western swing
at Otto's Shrunken Head's first outdoor concert
Leni Stern and her band blended african rhythms with jazzy funk jams
outside the Front Gallery
Strange Majik played acoustic rock and roll at Marshall Stack
PANDEMIC!! had many couples dancing to vintage Latin music
at Cooper Square Plaza
Rob Mastrianni played original instrumentals and added complex guitar loops
to a few classic rock hits at Marshall Stack
Lucas Kane rocked a banjo and was joined by Jamie Emerson
on one song at Tompkins Square Park
Bes Aliju and Maj Aliju leaned on pop outside Dua Kafe
Whiteclaw played classic rock songs at Tompkins Square Park
Gina Healy sang the blues at Pinky's Space
The Underground Harmony played classic rock
at Caravan of Dreams

Zoran Panjak sang original and cover songs at Marshall Stack
